Kakku Day tour itinerary
Pick up from your Inle Lake hotels, transfer from Nyaung Shwe to Kakku by car via Taunggyi the capital of Shan State. You will also have a chance to visit the (5) day market on the way. After that proceed to Narbaung, from Narbaung we will keep walking for about 1 hrs to Htampaya. On the way to Htampaya, you can observe the natural water source that nearby villagers rely on not only for drinking but also for agriculture. Further on after passing through several farms we can visit an ancient cave.
Our car will wait at the end of the short trek to proceed to Kakku. You can enter Phyu Nge ancient monastery before Kakku. Lunch will be catered at the Hlaing Koon restaurant at the Kakku pagoda complex. Pay homage to recently discover ancient Buddhist stupas aligned in parallel rows covering an area of nearly one square kilometer.
In the evening, depart from Kakku via Taunggyi/Kyauktalone to Inle. Return back to your respective hotel by boat.
