Kyat Mout (or) Cock Comb island
There are many reasons that the world interesting in Myanmar. Thin Nin Tharyi state located in southern Myanmar has many beautiful and mysterious islands which can attract many tourists. Kaw Thaung township located in southern Myanmar has many beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea among them, the Kyat Mout (or) Cock Comb island has a heart-shaped lake in its center. So it becomes one of the interesting places for tourists in the world.
It is located in the southwest of Kaw Thaung and 44 kilometers far from that town. We can get there by speedboat to the island local in Sar Dat Gyi Village within Andaman sea in one hour. A small cave in the east-west of the island is the only way to enter the island when the sea has a low tide. A tourist said that they went there by a series of a long rope and tied their bodies to dive through the 30 ft undersea tunnel then enter the center of the island then he felt the amazing to experience that he never imagined.
The beautiful snorkeling site is the center, depth about 12 meters at the high tide of the sea. In summer it is enough to see clear through 6 meters underwater by snorkeling mask. About 25 kinds of hard coral, 40 different kinds of fish species, natural corals, seaweeds, different kinds of rare and strange undersea living organisms.
In November and December, the sea sharks grow and go around the lake in their breeding time. Also called as Shark Lagoon by niche travelers.
Now Grand Andaman Hotel offers a day tour to the island and trying to cooperate with the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism (MOHT) to promote as a new destination. The island will become easier to reach out and more vacation rental for leisure hot spot in Myanmar tourism sector.
