Nat Ma Taung National Park which is one of the ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHPs). This offers the chance to climb the Mt. Victoria (Nat Ma Taung or Khonuamthung in Chin State) 3,053 meters (10,016 ft) above sea level and located between 21′ 24′ N and 93′ 55′ E, within Kanpetlet, Mindat and Matupi Townships in Chin State. It is a part of the Himalayan Mountain Ranges and Located in the western part of the country, covering 722.61 square kilometers. It is the third highest peak in Myanmar.
This the region of evergreen forest, pine forest, and hill savanna within those over two hundred bird species are recorded. Moreover different species of reptiles and butterflies are still present. White-browed Nuthatch (Sitta Victoria) is one of the endemic bird species of Myanmar which can only be found in this area.
Trip to Mt. Victoria offers recreational opportunities as well as view of the natural mountain scenery, bird watching, observing the hidden world of Chin people and their ways of life. From an ancient city of Myanmar, Bagan to Kanpetlet will take you about 4-5 hours across Chauk, Seikphyu and Saw Towns. The road to Kanpetlet from Bagan can be used for the whole year and all seasons by now.
